What is daeun, the 10-year luck?
Daeun is the big flow of life that changes every ten years. It starts from your month pillar and moves one step at a time, showing which energy comes to you for each decade.
How it is set
Daeun starts from your month pillar. Traditionally, the year you were born and your gender decide whether it runs forward or backward, and the days from your birth to the nearest solar term set the age it begins.
Seun, the year's flow
If daeun is the backdrop for a decade, seun is the flow of a single year. The same year affects people differently because their decades differ.
How to read it
When a new decade brings what your chart lacks, things tend to go more smoothly; when it adds to what is already strong, balance matters more. Many people feel a change in their life or outlook in a year when the decade turns.
In Ari Fortune
The calendar tab's “this decade” view shows your current decade and this year together, and you can ask Ari about them. The direction needs your gender, so without it the 10-year luck is not calculated.
